“Her dark hazel green eyes always looked greenest when she cried. Red face. Green eyes. In a sad, yet comical way, Christmas came to mind.”
Lilliah needs to start over, even if that means doing in an unsavory part of a new city. But her new home isn’t all bad, especially considering that Marek is her new neighbor. From the moment they meet he seems to become her self-appointed guardian. But as they grow closer, she’ll discover he has a sinister past, one she might not be up to living with. Though the choice might not be hers to make as Marek’s dark past encroaches on their present and endangers their future. Can they survive this battle of good and evil, and will their love last as well?
This is the kind of romance that I love to read, especially curled on the bed trying to unwind after a long day at work. The usual normal predictable storyline gets too clichéd and boring. I have kept away many a books half way because there is nothing promising to look forward to
On the contrary, I have always liked something that will keep me on the edge. Marek’s sinister character and his past had bewildered me first but slowly I began liking that in the background. I don’t want to give away more than this because it can become a spoiler of sorts. But if you are somebody who already knows the storyline or has read the novel already then may I suggest that you click here for more on my reflection on the book. I’d be delighted to have you there! I do a lot of reviews on my own blog and it is spread across genres so that the readers are not bored with the monotony.
My Opinion: This was a wonderfully created story with aspects of almost an epic tale. The story pulls you along from one section to another in a smooth story that makes you feel by the end like you’ve known the characters forever. The story and romance is engaging and interesting. Lilliah and Marek are both realistic and enjoyable. Their romance was toe-curling and made you want to fall in love again alongside them. Fabulously full side characters flushed out the main story while adding in their own side stories as well. This was a powerful romance that you won’t want to miss.
I received a free copy of this book to review. No other compensation was given. The summary and review are 100% my own.
